Hello Blues fans!
We appreciate all of you that responded to our member survey.
Here is some of what we heard from you:
The most popular answer to what the proper role of the NCFBS should be is Blues Promotion & Education, although many of you said that the other options, Booking Concerts of Touring Artists and Providing opportunities for local artists to jam & perform also fall under that umbrella of Blues Promotion & Education. We agree!
61% of you responded that you “regularly” attended NCFBS Blues concerts. Only 4% responded that they had not yet, and we hope we can provide an opportunity in the near future that they would like to attend.
42% of you responded that you “regularly” attend NCFBS Electric Jams or Acoustic Open Mics.
On favorite types of Blues, 74% of you like Chicago Blues. Chicago Blues was one of five subgenres or types of Blues that received 60% or more responses, and all ten options received over 30%, which shows that our members like a well-rounded Blues experience.
As far as booking goes, 48 artists/bands that we have not yet booked received multiple votes. These were headed by Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robben Ford, Ben Prestage, Amanda Fish, Eric Gales, Mr. Sipp, Jontavious Willis, and Sugar Ray & the Bluetones.
If we find an opportunity to book any of these artists at a price that we can afford and on a date that makes sense, we will be happy to bring these artists or some of the others that received votes as well to town.
We will bring you more results from our 2020 member survey in the near future. Thank you for your support!
