At 33 years old, Jose Ramirez is currently Latin America’s most popular Blues star and has played with some of the biggest names in the industry. The Jose Ramirez Band placed second at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis against over 230 bands from around the world.
Originally from Costa Rica, Jose recently signed a contract with world-famous Blues label Delmark Records in Chicago for the release of his second studio album, the first-ever Latin American to sign with the renowned record company.
Jose was recently nominated for a Blues Music Award in 2021 for his debut album “Here I Come”, produced by blues guitar legend Anson Funderburgh.
In the past couple of years, Jose has traveled the world playing the blues. His three European tours included more than 65 concerts in England, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal and Belgium.
Sheba the Mississippi Queen & the Bluesman were International Blues Challenge semifinalists. Sheba’s influences are Billy Holiday, Etta James, Tina Turner, Aretha, and Big Mama Thornton, and she has performed at Springing the Blues, the Coral Gables Blues Festival, and the Long Island Blues Festival. The Bluesmen is led by guitarist Keith Caton and includes top musicians steeped in the Blues that have played alongside Bo Diddley and other greats.
