The North Central Florida Blues Society is always trying to bring the best in Blues acts to Gainesville, and to show the diversity within the Blues. We think we have really hit the mark with our next three shows:
July 28: Shane Dwight/Rick Randlett Band at the High Dive: This may not be a show for Blues purists, as Shane has one foot in Blues and one in country music, but he plays the Blues very well and is a fantastic live performer. He played Springing the Blues multiple times over the years, becoming a fan favorite. Blues Revue magazine stated: “Shane Dwight is a talented musician and an impressive songwriter… Dwight’s guitar playing is as substantial as his songwriting.”
August 11: Jason Ricci & the Bad Kind/Root Redemption at the High Dive: The last time Jason was in town, the town was still recovering from Hurricane Irma. We thought this artist that is truly moving the genre forward needed to be brought back soon so that this man’s talents could be properly recognized. And his band also must be heard and seen to be believed.
September 15: Bridget’s BIRTHDAY BLUEZAPALOOZA – Tennessee Redemption (Brandon Santini & Jeff Jensen)/Damon Fowler/The Shakedown featuring Michelle Banfield/Bridget Kelly Band. It’s Bridget’s birthday but you get the present – awesome live music. Brandon Santini and Jeff Jensen were already two of our favorite Blues artists on their own, but together – wow, look out! Damon Fowler is one of the state’s true talents and we bring him to Gainesville for the first time, and The Shakedown and the Bridget Kelly Band are members of the Society and are both bands that Gainesville can be proud of!
